Natural Cleaning Service

The point of cleaning your house is not to replace bacteria with toxic chemicals, but to truly clean your house in a safe manner as a natural cleaning. At Sparkling Clean Agency, we love the anti-bacterial powers of tea tree oil, and we have found that it is very useful in a variety of capacities. Without the harsh toxins, tea tree oil is a powerful solution that’s perfect for a quick cleanup in the kitchen, especially if you have small children who are prone to exploring the world around them by touching and tasting everything.

Tree tea oil has been shown to fight not just bacteria, but various fungi and viruses, too. It is commonly used in situations where people worry about bacterial and fungal infections, such as acne, blisters, warts, and insect bites, but is also a great booster for your household natural cleaning supplies.

What is tea tree oil?

The essential oil known as “tea tree oil” comes from the Melaleuca tree, which grows in Australia. Historically, the leaves were used as a substitute for tea, which is how it got its name. The oil from its leaves has been used medicinally for many years. Australian Aboriginals used tea tree leaves to speed up the healing of cuts, burns, and infections by crushing the leaves and applying them to the affected areas.

Tea tree oil in household use

Tea tree oil has many uses for housekeeping. It is a powerful antibacterial product, and it can give a natural boost to your all purpose cleaner.

All purpose Cleaner

When you make your own all purpose cleaner with tree tea oil, it not only works as a great antibacterial and anti-fungal agent, but it also helps remove dirt and grime more effectively.

To create an all purpose cleaner, combine the following ingredients in a spray bottle:

  • 10 drops of Tree tea oil
  • 1 ounce of your favorite natural dish soap (for this solution, I love Mrs. Meyers dish soap)
  • 14 ounces of water

Grout Cleaner

Tree tea oil kills mold and mildew. Apply this solution before cleaning your grout with your natural tile cleaner. While this solution won’t take away mold discoloration, it does kill the mold and mildew – something a natural cleaning tile cleaner will not accomplish alone.

To create a grout cleaner, combine the following ingredients in a spray bottle:

  • 2 teaspoon of tea tree oil
  • 2 cups of water

Mold and mildew prevention

To help reduce and prevent mold and mildew, apply the this solution to the affected area and do not rinse. This solution has a strong smell that disappears in a day or two. If that bothers you, you can minimize the smell by adding some drops of essential oil – I personally like Lavender essential oil best.

To create a mold and mildew cleaner, combine the following ingredients in a spray bottle:

  • 15 drops of Tree tea oil
  • 2 cups of Vinegar
  • Optional: you can add some drops of Lavender essential oil to minimize the smell

Laundry helper

You can add ½ teaspoon of Tree tea oil to your laundry for towels and any other fabrics that are prone to getting moldy.

I know that Tree Tea oil can be hard to find and expensive. I usually buy my essential oils at www.puritanpride.com.

What satisfied customers have to say about Sparkling Clean Agency

I hope you can implement these natural cleaning tips at your home. I have always believed in green living, but being a mother of two also has taught me that green cleaning is not just a principle I endorse. It is a necessity for the health of my family. More than ever, I worry about what’s on the counter surfaces, on the ground, and in the air of my home. Every mother understands this, and I’d like to think that we play a role in alleviating these worries and educating parents on how to best keep their homes healthy and clean.
