How to recycle Hazardous-Waste materials in San Francisco?

What they pick-up:

  • Paint & stains (latex, oil-based, stains, lacquer, urethanes, primer)
  • Any Aerosol spray can
  • Solvents (paint thinners, miniral spirits, lubricants, alcohol, gasoline, turpentine, acetone)
  • Adhesives & resins (glues, caulk, roofing, tar, wax paste, grease, joint compound)
  • Cleaners (kitchen/ bathroom cleaners, bleach, ammonia, detergents) 
  • Garden Pesticides (herbicides, wood preservers)
  • Fertilizers 
  • Car motor oil 
  • Car Anti Freeze & coolant
  • Fluorescent lights tubes & CFL light bulbs
  • House Batteries and Auto Batteries
  • Propane tanks 
  • Fire Extinguisher (the size of a 2L soda bottle or smaller) 

What they DON’T pick up:

Unknown containers, compressed gas cylinder, anything above 5 gallons, asbestos, water reactives, explosives, biological waste and radioactive waste.
